The Foundation for Science and Technology

The Foundation's purpose is to provide a neutral platform for debate of policy issues that have a science, engineering or technology element. The Foundation organises dinner/discussions and workshops on relevant issues when parliament is sitting. Soon after an event a two page summary is posted on this site and later a report appears in the Foundation's journal, FST Journal which is also on the site. Past copies of the Foundation's old journal Technology, Innovation and Society are also searchable on the site.

The site, summaries and journals can be searched by entering key words in the Google search engine at the top of this page. This will search both the html and pdf pages.

The Foundation also provides a support service to learned and professional societies. Around 180 societies subscribe to receive the two monthly Newsletter.

The Foundation is overseen by a Council chaired by the Earl of Selborne KBE FRS. The Foundation's Chief Executive is Dr Dougal Goodman FREng and the President is the Rt Hon the Lord Jenkin of Roding.

Keith Lawrey is the Learned Societies' Liaison Officer for the Foundation. He prepares Guidance Notes on a range of administrative issues of interest for the administrators of Learned and Professional Societies who are members of the Foundation. He is also on a limited basis able to provide guidance to individual societies.
